We are taking a break from Bible Quests and doing something a bit different for the summer.  We are having weekly Summer Challenges.  Here is how it works:

Each Sunday morning you can pick up a new challenge from me.

Complete the challenge worksheet during the week.

Have your parent’s initial after you complete the Family Challenge together.

Return your challenge worksheet the following Sunday (or the next Sunday you attend) for a cool prize.

It’s that easy.  If you aren’t there on Sunday but want to get the new challenge, it is available on the Kid’s Life page of the church website.

Keys for Kids is a great resource.  You can access the daily devotional online… read it or listen to the audio.  You can sign up and have it emailed to you daily.  Prefer reading from actual paper?  They even give free yearly subscriptions and will mail it to you every other month.  How’s that for choice?

They have KJV, NKJV, and NIV versions of the verses.  You can even look up specific devotionals by topic or Bible reference, which is a great help if you have kids who are asking specific questions or need to work on a specific area of their lives.

Welcome to the Children’s Ministry Blog of Life Community Church.  I hope you will find this blog both useful and fun.  I will post the topics we are studying in our Core Classes, info for parents, and even some surprises for the kids.  But first let me share a little about who I am.

My name is Kristie Buttram and I am the part-time children’s director at LCC.  I have been married to Donald for almost 15 years.  We have six children…Emily, IV, Joshua, Daniel, Jessica, and Chloe.  Our children have been homeschooled, in private Christian school, and in public school so I can relate to the blessings and struggles of all three.

Donald and I started with LCC at the beginning, 5 years ago.  I have enjoyed serving in many areas of the church…nursery, preschool, elementary, creative team, and ladies Bible studies.  I am looking forward to see how God is going to stretch me and grow me in this new position at LCC.
